That fantastic "Isn't it nice when things Just Work" Honda commercial was supposedly available as a free DVD, but I was never able to obtain one.

Does anybody know where I could get one?

It was only officially available to UK residents.

I've put a 20MB MPEG2 copy of the advert up on my webpage here.

It's a rip of the DVD so it's better quality than the one off the website. I may have actually gotten it off this BBS... I seem to remember somebody making it....

[edit]Ahh. I was right. PhilipOHare did it[/url]

I MAY have a DVD lying about. I sent several to the US. Tony Fabris never got his - I forgot to ask him again.

Let me have a look.

Still never got it. From what I remember, you verified that you'd had the correct address to send it to, so it wasn't a problem there.

Not a big deal any more, I'm happy with the high-rez DVD-rip of the movie. Still got that file on my hard disk.

Downloading now. Thanks!

But I'd really like something I could pop into my DVD player and play on my 27" TV set... I'd happily PayPal the postage and a bit extra for the trouble if somebody had one they'd part with.

Greetings!

If you have any way of duplicating that DVD before you send it...

Just an extra thought....

the DVD is PAL. Can you guys in the US play PAL discs on standalone players? I know I can play NTSC discs on my Pioneer player, but just thought I'd check that one before copying.

Valid point. I cannot play PAL here - my regular DVD cannot handle it. I think I better stick with the file... Sorry about that.

You could always convert it then reburn on another DVD (or SVCD). Changing PAL to NTSC is not too hard with the right software, just drop a couple of scan lines.

Different refresh rate as well though. Just dropping scan lines as well gives you an odd picture and you'll end up with jagged lines. To do it properly you need to do interpolation over the whole frame.

Yeah, thats possible. I have an 8000kbps mpg of the advert. I could convert to NTSC and make something. Wouldn't have all the content of the original DVD, but if anyone wants that I'll do it.
